Fightin' the Jetlag and winning!

Cheerio all! We landed at Manchester at 8:45 am pretty rundown and ragged, and made it through the checkpoint pretty easy. Our car was there to meet us, and we cruised right to our new flat on campus at Keele University. There's a bus stop right outside our new digs, and we rested a bit then hopped on the first bus that came by and headed into Newcastle-Under-Lyme, our nearest-by town.
We hit a few shops for some staple items, including an airbed for Savannah, and we got some surprisingly good grub at a pub that looked surprisingly Applebee's-ish. We found the bus home after the grocery store and had time to walk a bit after the rain finally quit. Just around the corner from the flat, and a short walk through a field, there is a tiny village that is actually the old town of Keele itself. Not much there, but there is a pub with a billiard table called the Sneyd Arms. Ah, how I've missed cider...that's made from apples kids...
We went to bed at 8, after being up longer than I have in a hundred years, and we slept until 10 this morning. We haven't got the wireless working in the flat yet, but we got to some computers in Lisa's psychology building. That pretty much brings you up to speed, I'll try to put some pics up when I can...must toddle off now.
Grizdawg Out.

  1. Hi! I guess you're asleep, because it's 4 am there. But we miss you and hope you all are doing well! Eat some Winegums for me! And jelly babies. Mmmm mmmm good. Griffin says "hello!" and don't miss out on the Beano! We say, "eat more peas!" 'Cause that's what you'll get in the pub as a side dish. David says cider as a side dish is preferable. It's crisps, not chips! And trousers, not pants! And dinner, not lunch. "Ta!" and "cheers!" for thanks. Say it like you mean it. :-)

  2. Denise gets all the credit for our message. Somehow the computer thinks it's me. (David)

  3. Hi Grizzards!

So glad you're there safely and that you're having a grand adventure! Excellent photos. (It was hard to read a lot of the text because it was the same color as the background.) That Magical Mystery Tour looks fantastic.

    Warmly,
    Kristen
